With VARIO-TOP LEICHT introduces to the kitchen industry a fundamentally new planning concept for designing the space above cooking isles and peninsulas. Wall units can be suspended, single or double spaced, from the ceiling with a support system fixed directly to the ceiling of the room.
The German Design Council awarded this system with the “Interior Innovation Prize – winner 2011”.

The “floating” wall units contribute to a visual division of the room. The shape of the isle or peninsula is emphasised and the planning layout is reflected in the ceiling layout. Kitchen and living area are newly defined. The rooms are visually divided but also maintain the through view, thus achieving the desired open room effect. The gain in storage space is a useful added extra.

All known wall units from the LEICHT programme can be used. Doors, folding- or swing-up door cupboards, even those with electric opening, together with shelf units and extractor canopies. A rear wall is necessary for single space installations. The support system between cupboard and ceiling is either recessed flush front or recessed with blenders, also parallel to the plinth. Ducting or electric cables can be invisibly installed here.
